i just saw that they announced yesterday that the new bridge being constructed between detroit and windsor (a massive project) will be called the gordie howe international bridge. such the perfect name for a bridge between hockeytown and hockey country.

Is this the famous bridge that Canada offered to build all of and Detroitians voted that they wouldn't accept?

no, what happened was that the state senate (republican-dominated) turned down canadian funding due to special interest contributions/politics. then in 2012 they cleared everything up. canada is paying for everything and also the only one collecting toll money.
