We had some crazy thunderstorms yesterday. I have this little clock on my desk, and the face will light up when you tap/shake it a little (also how the Snooze works). The thunder got so bad that one time it activated the light on my clock. I found that amusing.
Anyway, the freaky thing is when I went to find my dog (she gets really scared by storms) and found her with my mom. Mom tells me she was looking out the window just a few minutes earlier and saw the Goodyear blimp in the air near our house. She also saw streaks of lightning surrounding it. I tried to look for it since it should have still been nearby (they don't move too fast in case you've never seen one), but I couldn't spot it. Turns out there was a reason for that...
Just got a call from my mom. Apparently the blimp crash landed near Sample Road and Coral Ridge Drive (which is about a 3 minute drive from where I live). A quick Google News search gave me this article:
Goodyear blimp crash-lands in Coral Springs during thunderstorm There are some good pictures there as well. Could have just as easily landed right in front of my house...
