Consoles

Around here the best selection of PC games is in a CompUSA. I went browsing this morning, intent on spending a gift card I got for Christmas, when I realized: There are no games out there that interest me that do not require a monthly fee to play. They also require a significant time investment to get to the point where the game becomes more interesting. I briefly considered Civ IV, but when I tried to run the demo I got a very strange graphical problem that previously had only cropped up when a Java web page came up (since disabled in Firefox).

The only game I'm waiting for at this point is Surpreme Commander, the spiritual sequel to Total Annihilation.

Because of all this, I've decided to buy a console. I just don't know which yet. The XboX 360 doesn't really interest me, though the PS3 and Revolution just might. I know I can get the present consoles pretty cheaply, with a huge selection of used games.

So things are wide open at this point.
