So, 2005 was a really superb year for me.
The most wonderful thing to happen is the beautiful young lady sitting on my lap right now, Julia Michelle. Julia was born on September 13, 2005, and every day amazes me a bit more than the day before. I am overwhelmed with how much I love her, and how awed I am at the responsibility of having a daughter. It's amazing how much the heart can expand to shower so much love on such a tiny creature. I look at her and hope that I will be a good enough dad to help her attain everything she can achieve, and sometimes when she smiles at me I think that I just might succeed.
2005 was an important year in other ways, too. Pam and I continue to have what I think is a really good relationship, and at going on 2 1/2 years of marriage that means we are already doing better than some. We bought our first house, and I'm managing to keep up with the mortgage, electric bills and everything else without having to slowly sell off my possessions on eBay, which I feel good about.
All in all, I feel very very lucky. Work is good (although it gets in the way of hanging out with Julia, which I resent) and I continue to develop as a lawyer and professional. I am blessed with a loving family, truly extraordinary friends and health. Not to mention two cute cats. What more could a guy want?!?!?
Happy New Year!
