How much of anyone's happiness is determined by their own experiences with sadness?
Do peak or extended happy/sad periods distort one's perspective when encountering future experience?
If you increase your threshold for tolerating sadness, does that make future lesser sadnesses feel less sad?
If you are used to a life of happiness, will that make it harder to be sad in a healthy way, should that occur?
Who is happier, all else being equal, a depressed person who neutralizes (whatever that means), or a happy person who neutralizes?
Do these two people feel their situation as the same amount of happiness?
Can these questions make sense expressed in this (or any) way?
Any and all thoughts appreciated.
