Whew

Been a while since I've updated. Figured I'd give everyone a head up on what's going on in my life. The Reader's Digest Condensed version is that nothing has changed. Yep, still working the status quo that I do.

Still working that piece of crap job I work and still hating it. I swear the micro-management bullshit we put up with is getting worse and it makes coming into work a total march of death. Example of how bad this company is...there are probably 100 people in our department, and of those 100 people, we have had one promotion this year. Just one. Total bullshit is that? Chances are I won't get a raise this year either because of my lousy review in July. Not that I'm a bad employee, I work my ass off for that place, but they just keep changing the requirements of making the promotion and what constitutes a "good job" to the point no one makes it.

Good example of how bad the job is. Of our last group of new-hires, they hired in 32 people in July. of those 32, only 10 are left. Most of them quit, some were fired. They just hired in another 30 people, which makes me want to laugh as the last group isn't even fully trained yet. *headdesk* stupid company.

One thing that does rather bother me a bit however. I talked to my sister last night. Apparently my mother is a bit upset that I don't spend more time over there visiting. I'm sorry, but I live an hour away from them and I visit about once a month. And everytime I'm over my folks insist I spend the night. I'm 32, does that seem wierd to anyone else? Don't get me wrong, I love my parents to death and would do horrible things to protect them, but I mean...come on, I visit maybe once a month, which is more than a lot of people visit their parents. *sigh* I don't know what to do other than quit my job and move back in with them. Maybe that'll make them happy.
*EDIT* Just talked to my mom, apparently my sister took everything out of context. *shrug* Not surprising I guess if that's the way it happened. My mom did say she would like to see me more than once a month...again, I live an hour away so that really doesn't work too well.

Well, went to the Renassaince Festival this weekend with my brothers. Dropped about $200 this weekend, but it was a good time. Was looking for a sword but didn't find one. They only had crap or swords that cost about $600. I did see a rather interesting reverse katana, the type used by Kenshin from Samurai X but use of the weapon would be a bit difficult to handle. There was also the gun blade used by Squall from Final Fantasy VIII, but really, that was always a stupid weapon. I don't know, what's the facination with making weapons off of video games or books. Though I can't argue that really, I do have a replica of Bilbo Baggins sword Sting hanging on my wall. heh.

While at the Ren Fest, I watched three very entertaining shows as well, though it would make little sense to try to explain it to you. Especially the Mud Show. But good times. :o)

Oh, here are some videos for randomness sake:

All these videos are pretty funny.

And one last thing. Gawked from KArthur:

Give me at least 1 reason why I'm going to hell. Then, repost this meme in your own LJ and see what other people say about you.

Well, hope everyone is doing well and talk to you all later.
