so i have to read this horribly written, unoriginal 19th century Russian novel, which, despite it's absolute lack of good style and original thought, inspired an entire russian generation, including Lenin. as i've been suffering through the 460 pg. book, there have been some shining moments.

here's a great quote:

"Reader, you of course have anticipated that on this evening some explanation would tkae place; that Vierotchka and Lopukhof will fall in love with each other?

Of course they will!"

Basically at the end of every chapter, he tells you what's going to happen in the next. He never leaves you to wonder.

The bad thing about drinking a beer with a Russian novel is that the novel lasts far, far longer than Sam Adams.
