So while I was coming back from Berlin, on the train to Basel SBB, at one in the morning - my plane ticket was cancelled after I missed the first flight to Berlin - some guy about my age asked me where the train was going. It was the last train from Basel Hbf (Germany) to Basel SBB (Switzerland). He looked really lost, and apparently it wasn't a good train for him, because he left.
But then, as I observed him going to a waiting room and laying down on a bench, I started asking myself if I should've asked him where he was going, and if he wanted to ride together. I mean, I was going to sleep on a bench until 6 in the morning in Basel SBB anyways too. And Basel Hbf is slightly sketchier than SBB. Plus, the guy was really cute in a shy way. But by the time I was thinking about this my train had left.
This isn't a big deal or anything. I was just wondering if it had been better if I had reacted quickier and in a friendlier way? Just like, "hey I'm kinda lost too, it's 1 in the morning, there are no trains left... why don't we find some place to sleep at?"
I felt like I had missed an opportunity to meet someone nice, but I could also be making up stories in my head.
Anyways I just thought I'd write this down to remember it next time I'm in a situation like that.
