(no subject)
It's really windy outside right now, and COLD!!! I just walked Ben out and it was freezing! Damn, I like it when it is cold! I feel bad because I told Matt that I would be at Modified tonight, but that was until I remembered that I had already made plans with Ben earlier. Sorry Matt. I really should learn to keep my social events straight. Ha, social events! That makes me sound like I really have an overwhelmingly busy social life. Whatev! I just hope Matt isn't mad or anything, He really wanted people to go to this show. I still feel like kind of a jerk for telling him that I would be there. But I did have a fun time with Ben as usual. Pizza, wings, and Sex and The City.
So get this, I'm being replaced by a 10 year old at theatre. This lady who does our props keeps bringing her son or grandson with here every night(names will be consealed just because) and he has started taking over jobs that we (the running crew) are responisible for. Look, I understand if the kid has to be there with her for some reason, but when was he added to the crew. For christ sake, he wears black and does the scene changes! Like today, I went down in to the voms to get ready for a change, and there was our props lady and her kid. She said, "Oh, we've got it." Well thanks very much for making me feel useless. I'm sorry, but theatre is my major and I pay to take classes and I give up my time at night to be there, only to be upstaged by some grade school kid. And this isn't the only time the lady has done this. Vickie got upstaged by her in the last show when it came to props. Vickie was the head of props and the other lady was the asst. director and she just took over. Ugh! She even comes out of the audience to do the imtermission change that the rest of us are perfectly capable of doing on our own. I'm gonna chat with our director about it tommorow. Alright, I'm done! No more Pity Party material.
Also, on another topic. Lisa, another girl that I stage manage with told me about job opeings with Best Western Reservation Centers. I'm definitly checking that out. They start you off at $7.60 an hour. All you do is make reservations. No dealing directly with bitchy people(maybe some over the phone). But I'd be out of retail. HOORAY!!! She said that she would pick me up and application. Maybe the gods will smile on me and let me find a good paying and pleasent job...PLEASE!!!!
