I have a stinking cold and some SERIOUS negotiating to do today.
I'm going to be really impressive sucking throat lozenges and armed with my box of man size tissues. I've power dressed today (i.e I put on a tie) so maybe that will convince the other party that I am a key industry figure and a force to be reckoned with.
I don't feel like a force to be reckoned with, but they are not to know that.
I am doing extremely well with my new eating regime.
Whenever I have meetings, I have coffee and biscuits brought in. Then I scowl at anyone who dares take a biscuit and after the meeting is finished, I scoff the lot! But, no longer.
Now, they can eat all the biscuits they want and any left overs go back to the kitchen. I've had nothing to eat between meals for two weeks and I realise now that a lot of my dumb eating is just habit. A cake? Of course. Have two? Sure.
More pudding? Absolutely. Having a cold helps because it takes the edge off appetite. It's early days yet, I know. But, I sense that I am making some real progress here, without going down the diet route which has never worked for me.
