This is sadly the last chapter of this story. I started it 16 months ago and due to work I am only just finishing it. Along the way I’ve had a lot of fun writing it and reading your sweet comments. I’m not sure if I will ever write another fanfic but if I do I hope it is a Jemma one because this fandom has been a very welcome part of my life.
Through Jemma I have made several friends who I speak to everyday and some I have met up with and some who I am sure I will meet in the very near future. What ever the fate of Jemma and the future careers of the actresses who played them - I hope they know that this storyline has been a force for much good and friendship.
Fiction which has ultimately created and sustained many non-fiction storylines.

All Emma could hear was a very faint muffled sound of some music floating around her head. She now knew what it must be like to have a vision because what she was experiencing felt like a beautiful dream. The room they were in was possibly the second largest she had ever been in after performing in Sister Act all those years ago so maybe she should have heard the echo of her heart beat or the guests whispers or maybe even Caro’s car screeching out of the car park but all she could hear was Jenny’s steps which at this moment were the most beautiful noises in the world. Jenny’s eyes met her own and she reached out for her hand, a smile flickered across both of their mouths as they turned to face the registrar.
And just like that the ceremony was over and Emma was signing something which said that she was a permanent fixture in a couple which contained Jenny and gave Jemma married parents. Her eyes met the brunettes and Jenny leant into her ear and whispered “Well I’ve gone from the girl you couldn’t stand to your wife - it only took 12 years.” She kissed her cheek and then Christine and Rolf led the celebrations. Sadly the curse of any wedding day seems to be that the couple are almost separated as quickly as they are joined to each other with their main duty being to entertain friends and family rather than to gaze lovingly into each others eyes.
They did however get to sit next to each other for the wedding breakfast and Emma wasn’t quite sure how Nat had managed to throw the beautiful spread together but there it was looking like a banquet from Downton Abbey. After three courses the whole wedding party had been well and truly spoilt and people were talking, laughing and generally having a wonderful time - it seemed almost rude to interrupt it but Mr Muller had a speech to make and Mrs Muller was quite keen he make it before he had too many more glasses of champagne.
The noise of a fork hitting the crystal glass silenced the room and focused everybody on the front table. Mr Muller stood up and cleared his throat.
“First of all I would like to thank everybody for coming - especially at the short notice.” he flashed Emma a look and everybody chuckled.
“Growing up I couldn’t have asked for a better daughter. She got good grades, didn’t skip school and was part of wholesome after school clubs...and then Jenny came along and well...Emma became…”
Jenny started to move uncomfortably in her seat and Christine shot Mrs Muller a look which suggested that if he was going to bad mouth her daughter he better have a good escape route planned.
“...interesting. Emma was perfect and never stepped out of line but she wasn’t really alive. Cooped up in her room after STAG rehearsals and never really seeing the world should be every father's dream - to keep your daughter safe. But that is no life and Jenny gave her a freedom and the happiness that is more important than any A* in a test. I have to thank Jenny not only for giving my daughter life but also my granddaughter and I couldn’t imagine my life without any of these three wonderful girls. So I ask you now to raise a glass to the Mullers”
The whole room began to toast the pair but just then Christine stood up and made a speech of her own.
“Well I don’t think the name has been decided yet so maybe we can also toast to the Hartmanns”
The confused guests once again raised their glasses and clinked them together and said in chorus “The Hartmanns”.
“Well I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be Muller.” Mrs Muller had now stood up and was also joining in with this now ‘family speech’. Rolf was staring into space wondering if he would ever get to read the new book he had just bought.
Sensing the tension in the room Nat decided to cut in. She wrestled the microphone from the family and said “Thank you for those beautiful words. I have my own special words which I would like to add.” Natalie nodded at one of the waiters who headed towards a sound system.
“What the bloody hell is she doing?” Emma said not so quietly to Jenny.
“Oh she is probably going to act something out or give a speech.” Jenny took another sip of champagne.
Music started and instantly Emma recognised the song. ‘She isn’t, she wouldn’t...oh my life she is. She is singing ‘We’ll meet again’. A wartime song...about English troops abroad...possibly in Germany…wanting to meet their loved ones. I have to stop her.’
However at this point it was just too late. Natalie had already burst out into full song. Far from people being angry the guests all started chuckling at this English woman who obviously hadn’t meant to stir things up but had ultimately decided to bring the war into in unknowingly.
Jenny and Emma started to laugh to and with Jemma being placed on the blondes lap she looked around the room at their friends, family and Nat now with a confused expression on her face now well into the second verse trying to figure out what was so funny and Emma had to admit it. Life could not get any more perfect than this moment.
A crash came from the hall doors and through it stumbled the now very recognisable figure from the past - Kate.
“I have something I would like to say…”
The wannabe Vera Lynn stopped, the guests all stopped laughing and you could have heard a pin drop on the polished wooden floor.
