Today's Thoughts

What was the name of Mathilda's teacher (the girl with telekinesis - I think that's her name)?

Who on TV had a "wall of weird"?

Last night I dreamed that the back door was locked, and I couldn't open it. So, I picked up the remote and pressed a button and unlocked it that way. Simultaneously, my alarm went off, awakening me, but in the instant between sleep and awake, I knew that the remote also, amazingly, controlled my alarm and had made it go off!

I have to switch out backup tapes in Commerce today, so I'll eat lunch up there, at the Chick-fil-A. Apparently, I am a unique individual because I favor both allowing gay marriage (I have even voted for it) AND freedom of speech for those who oppose it. Wtf is wrong with me??? Lol.

Nerdy D&D thing I sometimes think to myself when something bad or highly inconvenient happens: "I disbelieve the illusion." Either I'm living in the real world, or else I have a sucky Will save, because it hasn't worked once yet to make anything disappear.

Have you been watching any Olympics at all? Isn't Gabrielle Douglas just the sweetest thing? She's like a waffle cone of chocolate ice cream with whipped cream and sprinkles, and then a tablespoon of sugar on top. I mean that in a good way.

Hannah went to Six Flags last Friday with a friend and bought a Batman cape, which she then wore to the movie with me on Sunday. The movie rocked, and I have a brilliant, pink-haired 14 year old daughter who is so utterly cool she can wear a Batman cape and go to the movie with her father and not be the least bit self-conscious.

Meggan got a job offer! She is going to be a waitress at a new restaurant, but that is all I know right now - she did not return home before I went to bed last night, so we haven't really talked. I think she'll do great - she can make a lot in tips with that thousand watt smile!

A couple months ago, Thunder River destroyed my beautiful new work Blackberry. I was issued a piece of crap replacement, but today I'm getting a replacement that's almost as good as the one I got wet. My pleas for an iPhone went unheeded, but at least I'm pretty much back where I was. Even Steven.

In what movie does someone tell the legend of a wise woman who instructs a boy to carry a piglet to the top of the mountain every day? The boy complies even though he doesn't understand why, but he grows stronger and stronger as the pig gets bigger and bigger, and thus he accomplishes some goal he had. What was his goal?

I have now been on some great vacations: a Caribbean cruise on which I saw Mayan ruins; gambling in Las Vegas; and touring a live volcano in Hawaii. Someday I want to go to Brazil. Well how about 4 years from now as a goal - the XXXI Olympics are going to be in Rio de Janeiro!!!

In this Saturday's D&D game, I will be running a side trek adventure featuring a very unusual villain. Danny told me he thought it may not be interesting when I told him about it. So, I must keep eyes and ears open, paying attention to whether or not my Players are enjoying it, and abort (or truncate at least) if it's not engaging enough.
