Ten Disappointments

1. Pretty much as soon as I woke up, I was reminded that today was Spring Forward day. So, that's one hour less of a weekend for me. Bleh. Nonetheless, I was ready to press forward and deal, yo.

2. I went bowling. Alone, just saying. I've been going quite a bit over the last several weeks. Practicing is supposed to make one better, but that "law" is apparently void for me. I'm getting worse, not better. Three games, 112 average. Pathetic.

3. When I got home, I found that the yard work I had done yesterday had been inadequate. I had used herbicide to kill dandelions, but when I arrived home, numerous sunny little heads were rearing up in my front lawn. More herbicide. Will it work? Doubtful at this point.

4. Last week, I decided to follow through, this week, on a plan to attend a UGA sporting event today: women's gymnastics. I knew months ago that I wanted to go to a meet this year, and their season is almost over. Lady Dawgs vs. North Carolina. Hannah was going to go with me, but she had a friend over and reneged.

5. Sarah thought she might go, in a separate vehicle, and then go straight to work after the match, but she decided against it.

6. On the way, I took a wrong turn and went about 10 minutes out of my way. There is a very deceptive exit off 316 that says, "78 and 10 East, this way". Or words to that effect. It is true, but it turns out that if you just keep going straight you get to the same place much faster, especially if you want to go around the southern perimeter of Athens, which I did.

7. After a long wait in traffic, and parking the car for $5 in a parking deck, I hoofed it over to Stegeman Colliseum only to find out that the event was sold out.

8. I would not have been above holding up a few bills and searching out a scalper, but the place was crawling with cops. Defeated, I returned to my vehicle and headed home.

9. So I went to John Carter of Mars, in 3-D, as a consolation prize. Snooze fest. I literally fell asleep more than once.

10. I have to go to work tomorrow.
