Sarah, Meggan, and Hannah came up and ate lunch with me at Mike’s restaurant in Jefferson. Greg and his wife Christine joined us. It was a very nice change to be able to see my family for awhile in the middle of a work day! The food is pretty good there, good country cooking, plus simple things like burgers and sandwiches. Both Hannah and Greg got the buffalo chicken sandwich; Christine and I both got chicken fried steak with gravy; Sarah got all sides (sweet potatoes, cabbage casserole, and I forget what else); and Meggan got a mushroom swiss burger and fries. I think everybody commented about how good it was.
Greg brought me a flyer today advertising Jefferson’s 4th of July celebration, which will actually take place on Saturday, June 26 (!). There’s going to be various foods for sale, children’s activities and games, vendor’s booths, arts & crafts, and…fireworks! Hey,
waywalker and
elena23, if you have no plans, maybe you’d like to bring your family up with us? We have a Group 10 game that day, but the Jefferson Freedom Festival runs from 5:00-9:30 PM, so we could go after. Could be fun, and it’s only about 25 minutes from our house!
