A follow up to this which was written by the wonderful Mara who invented Yevgeny in the first place :)

Jon had never thought about this happening. Sure, he knew about Yevgeny's 'job' and sure, Yevgeny's been away on 'business trips' before - but never in Afghanistan. Never on a trip that seemed as dangerous as this. He knew his Master had to go; needed to go if he wanted to keep the trade going.

And he also knew that Yevgeny would be back from this, soon. As always. Yevgeny was a professional. But none of this offered much comfort for Jon. None of this made him less scared to lose his Master and lover over this.

Jon didn't show any of his fear to Yevgeny. That's not what he wanted to give him to remember him by on the trip. The fear was for later, when he was alone with Noggy and Nathaniel. He could hide it until then.

What he really wanted to give to his lover was hidden in Yevgeny's suitcase. The CD that had been playing while they'd had their session last night and a towel. The towel Yevgeny had rubbed Jon with after the shower; small traces of Jon's blood were still clinging to it.
