Summer Update & Renn Faire News

Aug 08, 2008 00:14

The summer has been going very well in almost all aspects. I got to see a good family friend get married, went to stephdray and adamdray's house for AdamCon and be more geeky than normal, got to spend most of a week at the GF's house, got to see some Goucher friends, and have enjoyed relaxing. I'm also going to hopefully be seeing another Goucher friend on Sunday, and hopefully two friends from Akiba who I haven't seen in a few years (they were a couple years behind me) on Monday. Huzzah!

In the not so good summer news: I hate my job. Well, that's only somewhat accurate. I hate the pay I get for my job, and how my weekly paycheck is generally about the price of a tank of gas +/- a meal out or two. There's also some other issues with my job that I don't really feel like discussing on a public page like this. But, there's just some stuff that I don't think is done as it should be. Luckily I only have another 4-5 days of work. I say 4-5 because...I'm supposed to work Sunday the 17th, but there are other plans that have come up with lunathecat and ornery_onion and possibly others that I'd much rather do. So, normally I'd not skip out on work to go have fun with friends...but...considering my disdain for my job, and the fact that I only have 2 days there after the 17th, with no intention on ever going back...I'm trying to come up with a reason to not go in. We'll see.

Oh, on the upside of work - I have spoken with one of my bosses (who is going next week to Edinburgh to perform in the Fringe Festival there!) and two of the servers about coming to work with us in our post-graduation theatre. As well as someone who could be a bar manager. My post graduation plans may be coming together little by little after all. BTW, if anyone happens to have a lot of money sitting around and wants to invest in a new idea in this country's theatre world, you should let me know and we can discuss business in a more private setting! This goes for if you know someone who fits this description as well.

And, in Renn Faire related news (as copied and edited from oatsnwildapples's LJ) - (Happy now, Lindsay? :-P ):
So, for those of you who might be going to the Maryland Renaissance Festival this season or might have a friend who is going, I thought I'd let you know that there is a coupon on their web page for the first few weeks of faire. It will save you money!! ($4 off if you're an adult!). Here's the webpage http://www.rennfest.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=14&Itemid=16. Also, if you come you should come visit me at Badger Blades! I'll be working there every weekend.

And, that's about that for now.
