egoboo o' the day
I often don't wear my wedding ring. I broke the ring guard in it and since it's a little too big on me and has been known to fall off my hand I default to not wearing it most of the time.
Today I happen to be wearing it for whatever reason. I was speaking to one of my regular customers who asked me if I'd gotten married recently, and I explained the whole "I don't often wear the ring it's too big" thing and how I'd been married almost 18 years.
He looked shocked, and said "but I thought you were like 24 years old!" I just about hurt myself laughing when I told him next week I'll be 40. This comes on the heels of seeing a friend I have known since I was 15 but had not seen in about 9 or 10 years since she was over in Washington state until recently... she swears I don't look any different than I did.
I said "Of course I do! I look better."
