Winter thoughts...

Jan 16, 2011 14:42

What started out as a so called 'normal' winter has now gone full out retard. It hasn't been above -20C in near three weeks, There's more snow on the ground now than any other time in the last thirty five years (a bit over three feet in my yard!) and there's six more inches in the forecast by tomorrow night. Truth be told I'm running out of places to put the stuff after shovelling out the sidewalk, and if it wasn't for all wheel drive, I wouldn't be getting my car out of the driveway anytime soon.

The cold is a normal thing for northern prairie dwellers like me; the snow is something else entirely. Usual total snowfall for the entire winter is usually around four feet and the winter is just getting started. At least the skiing will be good this year...

Haven't been online much in recent times, as you may or may not have noticed. Life has been keeping me busier than usual, and in a good way too.

Oddly enough, amongst the mayhem there have even been a few signs of life when it comes to getting back writing. A few pages have been scribbled down and tucked away, perhaps to be finished some time soon, but then again, perhaps not.

And since this journal is becoming more of a photo blog than anything else, here's a few recent pics...
