Hey there, hi there, ho there
I gave up LiveJournal for a month. (Inquire further if you are wondering why) Did anyone notice?
What have I been up to? I started subbing. Yay me. I'm starting another half-assed attempt to get into shape this summer. Running is hard. Track is over. It was probably the best season I've had so far, and i didnt think anything could pass up last years group of kids. I got a girlfriend. My friends think she's hot.
However, subbing has allotted me time to do something that I haven't done since I was a sophomore in high school; read. (Huck Finn I think was the book) I decided that relying on my High School education (though be it an above par education than most through extensive AP classes) and some history and political science college classes, is not enough to consider myself educated. How do I solve this? I picked up two books to read while subbing. Those books being America: The Book by Jon Stewart and Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them by Al Franken. Two of the truly greatest thinkers of the decade... and last decade.... and the last half of the decade before that. Ok, so the greatest thinkers of the past two and a half decades.
I started reading the Franken book today and in about 3 hours of highly interupted reading I got about 100 pages under my belt. Far from impressive, I know, but, for not reading since i was 15 years old, not bad. If only I had this book when i was debating piechocki without straight numbers. Only now do I see through his bullshit rhetoric that was fed to him by none other than Rupert Murdoch. You can't trust a man who watches Fox News for facts. I don't blame Chris though. It's not his fault he was born with a partisan handicap. All jokes aside, I respect Chris for staying true to his guns even if I disagree with him. Even he admits that Fox News is bullshit.
I however watch my news from a show that is followed by Crank Yankers. Yes, The Daily Show. However, I do have to hand it to Jon Stewart, The Daily Show is the only news show to heavily report on Haliburton. They are the only news show (correct me if I am wrong) that has noticed that the terror alert has not changed since BEFORE the election. But a show that is made for entertainment lacks credibility right? Oh wait, I forgot that sensationalism ruled the news airwaves. Liberal bias? My ass.
EDIT: The terror alert has just been raised today. Damn terrorists.
I think it's funny that now that Felt is coming out saying that he was Deepthroat (not the porn) people are coming out and blasting him for being unpatriotic and treasonous. If anything, I believe Felt is one of the most Patriotic Americans. He brought morality to the White House. Not only did he bring down Spiro Agnew, he brought down the fucking President of the United States. Nixon was a crook, let it go.
Wanna know why i think Felt came out of the political closet? Because he's hoping that there will be a second coming of another Deepthroat. Anybody? Someone? Please? There's enough shit on this current president that is PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE to bring this asshole down. Anything? Nope. I don't blame society. I blame the social studies teachers that never taught kids to think.
Just to let you know, I am not blasting conservatism. I am blasting the pompous assholes that try to run the propaganda machine that will make you buy into this era of New Conservatism with none other than Bill O'Reilly at the steering wheel. (yes, i had to bring O'Reilly in it at some point.) If you believe in the Conservative view point, more power to you. But please, admit that George W. Bush is a fucktard... not just for me, but for the good of the nation. Thank you.
But now i must be off to go look at new cars with Robby. Please fact check for me if I'm wrong.
