Tonight We're Gonna Party Like It's 1999!

I GOT MY FIRST TATTOO!!
It's only about half done, but hoooly shit! It's INCREDIBLE. I cannot believe how great she did with the custom design for it, and then the color. THE FUCKING COLOR!!! It's an amazing art piece, and I'm extremely proud to have it on my leg foreeeeeever, haha.
I'll post pictures when it's done, =]!

Getting inked was how I spent my day, with Elyssa who came for moral support haha, yesterday (10am-6:30pm, including a lunch break - definitely hurting by the end of it, haha). That night, after running a million errands with her and Brandon, she had a party at her place in Newmarket. It was pretty fun. Nobody I was really close with other than Lissa and Brandon were there, but it was a cool night. It was technically a cocktail party, so everyone was dressed all fancy. I was pretty docile 'cause my leg felt like it'd been run over, plus I wasn't drinking much, but it was a blast. Elyssa even kissed me at midnight 'cause neither of us had dates, it was pretty funny (no it wasn't some crazy makeout, so don't even! haha).

I hadn't actually talked to Beau on the phone (just texting every other day or so) since he'd left for tour. I figured he wanted his space while on the road, and as I've said...just friends right now. But then I called him to stay awake on the delivery run this past week, and I guess that broke the ice 'cause he's called me at least once, usually twice a day since then. He was even the one to call me at midnight. He's so goddamn cute. =]

We had plans to see Dropkick Murphy's on St. Patrick's Day in Boston, but of course it's all sold out. Maybe we'll do the show that Saturday in Lowell? I hope so. This'll be my first time celebrating St. Patrick's Day as a legal drinker! I realize it's one of THOSE drinking nights, and I won't get stupid about it, but I can't wait to go out for it. I love big events like that. =]

Well, I hope everyone else had a great New Years. Tell me your resolutions! Mine are just finishing a lot of projects I wanna get done this year, and "be as tall mentally as I am physically", haha.

1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before? Played on stage with a band, got a tattoo, read a poem on stage, drove to NJ, told someone I liked them.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for this year?
last years: All but the "try to make myself cry more'n once this year".

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Not close to me, no.

4. Did anyone close to you die? Again, not close to me, no.

5. What countries did you visit? Just the states!

6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010? My tattoo finished. The guts to let myself really like someone.

7. What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
January 16th - Hymns show in NYC - played tambourine on stage.
March 20th - Big D show in NYC - also went on stage for my birthday.
July 26th - the NYC trip with Jess and Sarah. Probably my favorite day this whole year.
September 3rd - Tiki Bar weekend.
October 29th - the night Beau and I hit it off, and stayed at the bar 'til 2am just talking. =]

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? reading at the Cantab, in Boston/probably biggest reading in New England, and having Christopher fucking Kain come up to me and say it was a great poem.

9. What was your biggest failure? Just missed opportunities - nothing I regret though.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Lots of colds. An AWFUL UTI in the fall. Blacked out once. I think that's it?

11. What was the best thing you bought? new video camera, lots of concert tickets. New glasses I can see out of! And my tattoo.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? all of my friends. C'mon! They're awesome!

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? I was pretty disappointed with my friend Lawrence. Not that he lost interest in me, that happens, but just the way he was acting to me and everyone else.

14. Where did most of your money go? Concerts, and gasoline.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Crash Kings playing Second Rate Citizen for me, that whole weekend really. Brooklyn Bowl day. Any of the fun "dates" with Beau.

16. What song will always remind you of 2010? "Hey Soul Sister" by Train is a good one. "American Girl" by Tom Petty too. =]

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? happier!
ii. thinner or fatter? fatter, but I'm losing it!
iii. richer or poorer? richer!

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Hmm...I'm content with how I did things.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Yep, fawning over someone who wasn't worth it AT ALL.

20. How did you spend Christmas? with family for the first part, then with friends.

Where's 21?

22. Did you fall in love in 2010? Nope. Very much so in like, though.

23. How many one-night stands? HA!

24. What was your favorite TV program? Doctor Who!

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Nope.

26. What was the best book you read? Hmm. I don't know if I've finished reading any REALLY good books. I'm halfway done like six right now. I'll get back to you, haha.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? River City Extension!!! Oh man. Love love love.

28. What did you want and get? More self-confidence. And a tattoo.

29. What did you want and not get? A laptop.

30. What was your favorite film of this year? Did 'I Love You, Man' come out this year? 'cause I'm in love with that movie. Scott Pilgrim, so far, is AWESOME though. Hmm. Didn't watch tooo many this year.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? 21 - went to NYC to see Big D with Sarah, and got brought on stage, then wandered the city with her and really just had an amazing, amazing weekend with my best friend and a favorite band in a favorite city.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Having my car paid off, or had I grown a pair and started talking to Beau waaaay sooner in the year. As in....not RIGHT before he left for tour, haha.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010? I'm dressing better and better. Making more girly things too. Hair is a big improvement as well!

34. What kept you sane? Lots of fun hang outs, lots of sweet tunes, and lots of driving.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Tony Beliveau, I think. And anyone in River City Extension. I have a crush on all eight members, haha.

36. What political issue stirred you the most? The whole oil spill bullshit.

37. Who did you miss? The friends I didn't get to see much, yeah.

38. Who was the best new person you met? Lots of new friends. Also touching base with lots of lost friends. But definitely Beau Williams.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010. If it scares the shit out of you, you should probably do it.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: I think this is the same thing I put last year, but fuckit: "Play the music louder; dance a little smoother; stoke the fire bigger, and we'll love a little longer!" <--what my tattoo is based off of! =]
