I had successfully build up the bamboo thingy, for the Nagashi Soumen yesterday! Thanks to Ai Kim and Pei Kim who had helped me a lot! Thanks a lot! It was indeed successful in the water flow system when we tried it at the free range near PKP (Cultural and Arts Center).
Well, I build that alone from morning until afternoon. Thanks to Pei Kim who later helped me up, the Nagashi soumen thingy was a success!
Anyway, I wish she would get the meaning of so-called:" Leadership" or "Interpersonal Skills". I don't know why, is it because she's not aware of that, or she just simply don't get it. I was kinda angry with her attitudes that she gave to me. I gave her the link to my blog, and therefore I wouldn't mind in saying out my words. I just hope that she can get it, and do try to re-think about what I wanted to say. I'm sorry if my words hurt you, but I guess, since I still consider you as my friend, I would like you to know that.
Sometimes, it'd be better to not giving lots of order when the effort that we put in wasn't there. Yes, it's one of the traits that a leader should have, but giving orders without thinking of how your subordinates think of is somehow not a very nice thing to do. I view leader as one who can lead; can understand the feeling of your subordinates; and able to gain commitment from your subordinates. Of course I'm not trying to say I'm a good leader either, which I'm not. I'm still in the learning process, and I'm just about the same as yours, I do make mistakes sometimes. It's true that a leader is there to lead, but that doesn't mean that a leader is always right. Admit it when it's our mistake. It's not something so shameful to admit our mistakes. In contrast, admitting your mistakes while you are wrong is somehow makes others respect you. That's something my dad always tell my siblings and I. Of course there will be a time when we won't admit it albeit we know we are in wrong, but somehow try to minimize that.
You see, I'm a person who will give my best shot in doing something if I want to do that. If that's my responsibility, I'll definitely put my effort on it. But then again, although I'm that kind of person, I don't like people to take advantages on me too frequently. I'm not as capable as what you think of me, indeed I always want to learn. It's true that I don't have a significant trait that a university students should have, but I have a quite pleasant attitude when it comes to handling some project or assignments. I'm not perfectionist as what you may think of. People see me as a very capable person. Although I'm happy for people to trust on my job ability, I make mistake somehow. No one is perfect, no? People see me as a very serious type of person, and would somehow, not easy to be approached too. Yeah, I don't deny that. But, I'm negotiable too. You can ask me to do things that you need help of, but then performing the task and taking advantages of my personality are in different context.
Take the bamboo thingy as an example, since that's our bureau's activity, that's our responsibilities to realize it. That's my mission too, to realize it. Therefore, I can spend my whole day, morning till evening, just to finished it off. Because to me, that shall be a trademark for our activity if the Nagashi Soumen concept could be realized. You sure do have a great concept of that, but like what I've told you, concept without the real action just can't realize that thingy. So, I searched for that. And come out with the action on how we are suppose to build it up. That's how a team should be. No? Think ahead of what material, how are we going to set up the whole thingy should be the main concern. And to make it even better, GOOGLE it. I'm sure you can search as much information as I can too. Ganbatte kudasai! So, when your subordinates had spent their whole day, finishing that thingy, please be considerate on how they will feel. Obviously, it's a feeling of accomplishment, right? Though it may be a small thing to be happy about, it's a pride to each of everyone of us who had put a lot of efforts in building up the thing. At this time, please do not hesitate to say :"Hey, nice job! Keep it up!" Because to the subordinates, that's the way of showing your appreciation towards their effort. By doing so, people will be glad to work with you. Because they will feel that they are being appreciated, and that their effort are not wasted. Or something like :"Sugoi! Okuro sama deshita." It'd definitely make others feel worthwhile with their effort given in. That's something I think. One more thing, one does need courage to say :" I'm sorry for the mistake that I've made.", so when one admit his/ her mistake, please don't laugh at that person. People need courage to do that. Instead of laughing at that person, I think he/ she should be respected. At least they have the guts to admit their mistake. And then, we can learn from each other, and not repeating the same mistake. That's something that I think of.
People somehow dislike person who bosses around like nobody business. Bossing around without giving any effort makes the thing worsen. People eventually will start to back off from him/ her. So, please don't hesitate to admit when we are in wrong; be thankful to people who had put a lot of effort in doing a particular job for you; and always put an effort in things that you want to do. That's something I would like to share with people who read my blog. Like what I had said, I'm not a perfectionist, and I'm not as capable as what you may think of, nor am I kind-hearted or not, I'm just a simple person who's always in the learning process. Tell me if I'm in wrong, if I doesn't realize it. For we are learning from each other, and you would never know, somehow we would just learn from anyone else, even though the person isn't a literate person. Even cleaner and gardener, we can always learn from them. Indeed, they have the knowledge that we don't have, even though we are a university students or not. Knowledge is something which doesn't have the boundary. That's what I'm thinking of. And tell you one thing, I had learned how to make up from a cleaner before, and I learned on how to make a water flow system from a gardener. ^^ See, like what I just said, knowledge doesn't have the boundary.
