39 - Birthday times! (A delightful narration of sorts with a journal at the end.)
[Jolteon...well, he'd never had to get someone a gift before, but he'd be damned if he missed this one. It took a lot of thinking, but he eventually settled on what he wanted to give Lucas.
Wrapped carefully in a piece of brown paper packaging was a hoodie, handmade by Jolteon himself. After all, he'd made his own signature hoodie, so he decided to make one for his friend--one that actually fit, since his was far too large for Lucas to borrow or anything. The fabric was striped like Lucas's t-shirt, the red and yellow one he wore so often. It matched the Pokemon's yellow hoodie with a pale yellow fur lining, all of the way up to the hood. Sure, summer might've been right around the corner, but there were still a few chilly days around. Having another jacket never hurt.
Under the hoodie was a small little stuffed animal, also of Jolteon's design. It was a tiny plushie of Jolteon's normal form, a small thing for Lucas to hang on to if he felt down and Boney wasn't available. Attached to this was a handwritten note for Lucas to read. It said:
Lucas--
You're 16 now! Isn't that cool? I just wanted to wish you a really happy birthday 'cause that's a big deal and all. And I also wanted to thank you for being such a good friend to me, too. You've always been there and you're such a good guy and everything.
Just remember: I'm always always here for you no matter what. Especially since everything that's been happening.
