This is a long rambling entry. Anyway, work at the commissary on base (that's like an Albertson's for the military for those who don't know) yesterday was pretty interesting. I worked from opening to close as a cashier on a payday weekend, so all the Marines and their respective spouses were blowing their money on that fun stuff known as food. Since I'm not allowed to stand up, the big people upstairs are kind enough to give cashiers two fifteen minute breaks and a thirty minute lunch to help cope with the 3-4 hrs of standing up, but since yesterday was so busy, they deemed it necessary to cut my last break (damn). This was my second day working by myself on a register without someone making sure I don't fook up too much, but here are some highlights.

-The code to enter on the register for bananas is 4011.

-The code to enter on the register for bell peppers, green is 4065.

-The code to enter on the register for bell peppers, red is 4088.

-The code to enter on the register for watermelons is 4032.

-The code to enter on the register for kiwis is 4030.

-The code to enter on the register for onions, yellow is 4665.

-The code to enter on the register for apples, fuji is 4131.

(Those are the ones I remember off the top of my head; now I have to memorize about eighty more)

-Actually received some compliments about being a super-sweet guy and having good customer relations (score).
-Received one compliment not dealing with anything work related that went a little something like this...
Positive: Hot woman is buying groceries, smiles, stays quiet for a while, finally says...
You know, you're pretty cute.
Thanks ma'am, do you have any coupons for today?
No, but how old are you?
17. Can I see your military ID please?
(Shows ID card, insert a few seconds of silence here)
Oh, that's too bad.
Why?
Negative: I guess you're a bit too young, and I have a husband.

...

...Maybe working as a civil servant isn't so bad after all
