This weekend was great. Past great, if you can imagine. Details later, maybe. The gist of it was that I got to spend time with my boy and both of our families, and I had fun. Friday night we saw the Ring II. Though not as good as the first one, it's definately not a waste of time. Saturday night Kev and I dyed Easter eggs and played cards with Jesie. I actuallly had a whole lot of fun. Yesterday we went out to eat with Kevin's family for his dad's 50th birthday, and then we went to Kevin's brother Keith's house and decorated signs to put in Kevin's yard for his dad to see on the way to work this morning.
Do you guys believe in angels? I do, and I'm convinced they take human form sometimes. If you don't believe me, you'll have to meet my Mamoo (Dad's mom). She called this morning and said she was wiring me money to pay my speeding ticket with. I mean she remembered the date it was due and everything. If she wouldn't have called, my ass would have a warrant out for me. That's not cool.
Random Thoughts:
The next time you go to Cook's Diner, you must try the potato soup and Mexican cornbread. I can't get over how good it was.
I don't like President Bush. Last night I heard on the radio that he was trying to illuminate the Upward Bound program in colleges across the country. This program gives prospective first-generation college students an opportunity to take classes at college for free and to receive credit hours for doing so. It encourages those who think they don't have what it takes to go to college to think otherwise, and it gives those with anxieties about the college transition less to worry about through their experiences. The program also offers scholarships of various kinds. I know of several people who have participated in this program and have been successful in college because of it; whereas without it, they wouldn't have gone to college at all. If the rumor about Bush is true, screw him.
To my friends and family: I have told Kevin that, should my "life" consist of feeding tubes and no or very little brain activity, pull the cord, of what have you. I don't want to just be living; I want to be alive. The girl's family who is fighting to keep her alive is doing the husband and the girl an injustice. He should be allowed to go on with his life. I would want Kevin to do the same.
I have to go to theatre now. Have a good day, guys.
