Hi Robin, i would like be friends here, I didn't ever stumble upon your lj before, I just saw it at silverthoughts- I of course wouldn't use any of your Jude pics you have here. But would love to see them!!!
Why so wierd about pictures - it's not like you personally took them yourself with your own camera. If you embellished them with Photoshop and made your won art from them, sure, but regular pics anyone can get fromt he same sources - lighten up. So what if they are posted on oterh sites as long as they are not hotlinked? You don't own copyright and it's not realistic to want to be the only one who saw or posted a certain pic of anyone.
apparently, you've never had several people swipe an entire gallery for their own fansite... i know i don't own copyright to any photos i post, and i know i won't be the only one to post a certain image of anyone...it's the fact that lazy asses think they can just take what i've done without so much as a by the by i took your pics, thanks...
the whole thing about the pics in my post was just a forewarning to those who think that random images i may post here can make their way to fansites without my permission...will save me some bitching time ;)
but it's all good now, i don't post pics here...i've set up a personal gallery so there's no need and i also have more control over who sees what...mwahahaha...
Even though this point is moot now, I'd like to add my two cents. Although probably none of us own the copyrights to photos we post, many of the photos that Robin posts aren't "regular pics anyone can get from the same sources." They're often photos that other people don't have access to. It's not fair for webmasters to post Robin's photos without asking permission or, at the very least, giving her thanks. Why let Robin do all the work while those webmasters get all the glory?
If I can't find a photo anywhere except on a person's site, group, or live journal, I personally make a point of asking that person for permission to post the photo at my MSN Group. I don't care whether or not that person owns the copyright to the photo; asking permission just seems like the respectable thing to do...
I'd like to friend you if you don't mind. First saw your Adrien site, then the Jude one. And I'll respect your wishes. I've had the same issues before, people taking things of mine and they wind up on fansites, watermarked to hell. I wouldn't do that to anyone.
May I friend you? I stumbled across your journal while looking through communities, and I would love to see some of the pictures. I definitely won't post them elsewhere!
