So we've made it to Ft. Campbell. First couple of days were kinda shitty. We got here Wednesday night. Kenny goes to where he's supposed to check in and finds out that Ft. Bragg screwed him as far as his house hunting leave goes. They were supposed to do the paperwork up for that BEFORE we left Bragg. But ofcourse they didn't!! Thank goodness everyone here is nice and understanding (so far) and they are working on it right now. Then we spent an hour looking for base lodging just to be told they don't have any rooms. So we spent the first 2 nights here in a motel out in town. We finally got into base lodging last night and for the rest of the time we need it. He goes into work at 5:45 during the week to say he's here and then comes home for the day. We've been house hunting. Our agent Angela is super awesome. She's an officer's wife but she's really nice. I don't know if I've mmentioned the cottage we had our eye on before we got here, but that was a MAJOR bust. The place was a dump, to put it nicely. The 2 acres of land that was supposed to come with it consisted of a hill so big I couldn't get my 4 wheel drive truck up it if I wanted to. It was a major downer for us. But we've found a place that is ok. Doesn't have the land I want, but it's nice. The back yard is fenced in. It has a gas fire place. The master bedroom is huge. But the master bedroom bathroom only has a shower in it (it's got the sink and all that stuff, but no tub). It's not like I every really take a bath anyway. And if I really wanted a bath I could take one in the other bathroom. It has a really nice, big deck out back.
Anyway, time to do some laundry. Update later and let everyone know how the proposal on the house is going.
