Sorry... a little soapbox... but really, you need a break just as much as they need to be with their kids. No weekends and no overnights. I have never dreamed of pawning Jessie off on the babysitter after a full week without her offering. I don't ask her to watch Jessie outside the normal hours just for her sanity's sake. It is a job.
As for the food and diaper issue... I pay $90-100 a week for full time care. I provided all the diapers and wipes. I did not, however, take food except when Jess was eating baby food and formula. I know you are trying to give them a break by only getting so much per week, but tell them you know what the going rate is for babysitting and that you know they are trying to screw you and you are going to quit being so nice if they don't straighten up. It's business. Don't take it personally when it comes to money and asking them for it. Am I helping?
Sigh. I cant help but feel somewhat responsible...
