Dangerous? Perhaps you are familiar with an old saying, regarding beggars and choosers. If Chrysler wants my money, they damn well better earn it. The banking bailout was a big enough mistake, we can't keep handing out money to any company that wants it without putting safeguards into place to see that it isn't wasted.

you don't hand money out to companies.
THAT IS ALL. ALL. You just do not do it.
Government control over large corporations is very bad and very dangerous.
It imposes on your rights. If they can control a company. How long is it before the get the rights to control YOU?

When the government gives you an unemployment check, they require you to conform to certain additional rules that do not apply to self-sufficient citizens. More abstractly, if you want to use roads paid for by the government, you also have to conform to rules that do not apply to people who do not use them. This is no different. If a company does not want to be subject to control by the government, it can support itself.

As long as government-controlled corporations are not given special treatment or favored over competing corporations, and the government gets a positive return on the investment, I do not see the harm.

DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND # 1.....YOU DO NOT GIVE BIG CORPORATIONS MONEY IN THE FIRST PLACE. Businesses should be allowed to fail. Especially the car industry.

and that is what is wrong with this country. You've been spoon fed to believe that if the car industry fails that Americas economy fails. WHICH is untrue and inaccurate. There is no one company holding up America. Believing that GM or AIG folding would send the American economy in to a downward spiral is ASININE. All this FEAR mongering is to get big government to take over large corporations and use your tax dollars to own industry. WHICH IS BAD. The government should in no way be BIAS to a company because they own part of it. That is why Medicare is so screwed up right now. So here--I am bored--explain to me why you disagree. I want articles and not liberal bias blogs to back it up. I want financial reports. Come on prove me wrong that this is not terrifying.

Oh, I don't think that the car industry failing will ruin the economy. I am just in favor of some forms of socialism and communism, and the government being a part owner of various industries is a good thing imho.

So your a Marxist? You know that historically fails. Is horrible. We can't afford as a country all these things that are promised. Have you ever been to Europe. The UK for example pays an insane amount on shopping taxes for needs and then has to pay taxes once a year like we do. That system does not work. The UK has been having TAX protests because the system is failing. People who love socialized ideas are typically under 30 and think it's a path to equality which is just ridiculous. It's the most conformist thing you can do to make everyone conform to being paid x amount of dollars, everyone get's the same health care, everyone get's the same tax breaks..Thats what I want to be. Completely goal less. I want to be where everyone is so equal nothing makes anyone stick out. That's my PUNK ROCK DREAM.
