Seems like a really lame, cheap, and surface level interpretation of our Mister J and Harley...I don't think Jared Leto is right for the part at alll and the way they wrote Harley as just a "crazy" blonde sex kitten is like...no. And giving The Joker a grill? What the hell??

Well, for me...I was super excited about everything I was seeing about the movie until they revealed that Joker would have tattoos. Having seen the trailer now... that opinion still stands. It's like I'm pretty chill about everything except for that lol. I like Harley's outfit (I mean obv the heels are a bit much but it overall seems in character) and the interpretations of the other character's looks don't bother me. I'm even cool about the implied Deadshot/Harley stuff that's been revealed via leaked set pics 'cause that actually happened in the comics (however much I hate the New 52, it did happen).

I trust Roberts to play Harley well and I know Jarede Leto has the acting chops to play Joker. I'm fine with Joker's teeth even because to me it makes sense that his teeth have prob all been punched out by now, though some people think that it's a grill instead. But the tattoos seem weirdly out of character to me...like he is a Joker fan but not the Joker himself. Obviously though I need to see how this fits into the universe...maybe it fits more into the movie and stuff but for sure that seems like the one issue I can't get over right now.

I know there's some weird fan theory that this is because it's going to be revealed in later films that it's not actually The Joker it's Jason Todd or some shiz but I would honestly be surprised if that was the reason. I think they really did decide to give the actual Joker tattoos. What I'd like to hear is fan theories about why that may be and what that means for this interpretation of the Joker and how he stands in this universe 'cause I really can't help feeling that it is super out of character and that it looks really bad which sucks cause when I saw Jared Leto photos of him as the Joker without the tattoos everywhere I was all for the look. Joker being a skinny guy with a pomp is so delightfully comic booky/the animated series. We haven't actually had that kind of aesthetic with Nicholson or Ledger.

Other than that I'm just happy to see Harley's first film appearance not have her look all New 52 and I'm happy to see from the leaked set pics and now the trailer that there will definitely be Joker/Harley stuff. We don't know anything about what the writing in the movie will be like obviously and that could make or break the whole movie. But since all I really care about at this point is how they will treat Joker and Harley I wouldn't say I have high hopes or anything but I don't think it's headed to a "omg they are so badly interpreted" place...except for Joker's tats. seriously what is with those tats..."damaged"...really??? I know I need to eventually get over that but... damn.
