So yesterday was my first day as a Checker. I was scheduled from 8am-12pm, but for one reason or another my boss asked me if I could stay unitl 5pm. I told him I would, and aside from having to buy lunch it wasn't all that bad. I was busy the whole time and the only real problems I had was when I had a really big WIC order and when my scale was being funky and taking forever to read vegetable and fruit weights. My shift went way fast compared to when I was a Courtesy Clerk, it went about as fast as when I was working Repack for a week and I was constantly running around. I'm kind of proud of how I've been doing as a Checker. I mean I clearly need more experience before I've mastered it, but so far the only times I've had to look up codes are on items that should have stickers, but do not. The only other real pain in my ass has been Lottery, but as I don't play and that was very much skimmed over in the classes I took I don't feel too bad about it.

Today I go in for another scheduled four hour shift, 6pm-10pm, but since it's until ten they can only really keep me an hour and a half over at most, which is kind of reassuring.

John came over last night and we watched some Buffy and Angel with Steven. We're a few episodes into season 5 Buffy and season 2 Angel, which is cool because that's where some of my favorite episodes are and when some of my favorite overall events start to happen. Between episodes and then after watching we were talking about this writing club he's part off. I think he wants me to join it, but mainly I told him I'd help him if he needed someone to help with peer edits. I think it's cool that he's part of something like that, but I don't know if I should be 100% honest or if I should pull my punches and try to be nice about his stuff. So far I've been more honest than not, but I don't know if that's something I should keep up on or not.
