2/21/06 :: an epic of jew U proportions, in the shadowlands of national monuments.

we like pursing our lips and wearing red.
so, once upon a time, mr. daniel came to DC for a spell during february break. we met up to waste much time on the metro system, bask in the 50 degree tourist-less weather upon the mall and take in some museums, gelato and camwhoring.
daniel insisted we pop into the natural history museum so i could appreciate a trippy 70's acid fiend creation film in watercolour - about the earth in its primordial stages. there were lots of jellyfish. i tried to capture them for petroldarling. oh well...tentacles. ENTER LIFE!
then we saw the dada art exhibit at the national gallery.
we saw wonderous pieces, such as these...

too bad i can't find it any friggin' bigger.

for some reason i was more struck by the non-photomontage/collage works. i suppose because i was more familiar with them prior to attending this particular show and was delightfully surprised by dada poetry, oils and even needlepointing!
then we spent a grand total of 20 minutes running around the american history museum before it closed.
we found friends! i commiserated with oscar, good henson creature that i am. and daniel bonded with some 18th century cellos.
