ice cell and the DOL
So I was trapped all last week!
We had this crazy ice storm, news said it was the worst since like 1930 something so yea that’s bad.
My car was covered in about two inches of ice block you could not get in it if you took a hammer to it. Yes I actually witnessed some freaks attempting this on their own car.
The roads were the same way and on top of it we had like 4 inches of snow that drifted in places and then the 2in of ice covered it making this supreme mess.
Matt went to work the fist morning not knowing and got stuck in his work parking lot and he has 4X4. I guess he drove in like 10ft and then sunk through the ice into the snow leaving the ice under his tires. At the same time his 4x4 broke yeah some screwy prob Toyota has with their newer models.
So Matt was forced to stay home like tue-thur forcing him to work on the weekend so we had our weekend early. However we were stuck at home because even attempting to step out the door would land you flat on your face. And watching TV wasn’t much fun because yup they had 24hr news storm coverage on. Bla
My car finally de-thawed the other day and I was free to leave the house Yeah. But then Matt took his truck to the shop last night and now yup you guessed it he has my car. Damn it all. Well I guess the Toyota place called and he has some metal that ground off stuck in his differentials which will take a few days so they are getting us a rental car.. yes score!… I am so great full its new and still under warranty.
Yesterday while I had my car I did manage to get out of the house to change my Drivers license for my new name and address. So the first place I went which is close to home that Matt told me to go unfortunately was closed on Monday so it said to go to some express place on 5411 east Mill Plain. Which turned out to be its own adventure since well I guess mill plain on this side of Vancouver is not the same as the other side so Yeah I got on going east and yup dead ended into Camas. Grrr yeah its act SE Mill Plain Rd on this side of town so after a while I figured it out and started heading west to go east go figure.
After getting there I find the express place is in the hell hole of Washington community services buildings. Yikes I think I only got hit on by like 3creeps that were hanging out at the employment security bldg and one didn’t even speak English. Oh I love those lusting stares and gestures by creepy toothless men.
So good news is the line at the department of licensing express was like super short only 3people. WOW. So I got everything accomplished and got the temporary and started to leave and I was like sweet I got a good picture on a DL and that’s just not allowed. Yeah well looking a bit more I noticed the guy had typed the address wrong so I had to go back and redo it all with a new picture. And yep I look like I am drunk because my eyes are half open and its just lovely. It must be bad when your hubby even says damn that’s awful : (
Well I’m going to go make some pork and noodles for dinner and maybe some crescent rolls. Yeah I make a pretty dang good house mouse if I may say so my self. Unemployed life just isn’t that bad especially when you get unemployment checks : ) Although I did apply for a job with the Federal Highway Admin yesterday but the application wont even go through for like 3 more weeks.
