B.A.P Drabbles/Mini-Fics

The pile of chips in front of Daehyun was large and would probably be more than enough to impress every man and woman in the bottom floor of the casino but the fortune he was after wasn’t small and circular and colored in bright hue’s.

“I’m all in.”

The boy across the table arched an eyebrow. “You have close to two million Won, Mr. Jung.”

He held his hands out and shrugged. “All in.”

With a sigh Zelo nodded and raked all of the chips to the center of the table and turned towards the other player. “Your call, sir.”

Youngjae was known for being reserved in his card games. He moved slowly and carefully and never made risky moves that would cost him money.

But this game wasn’t about the money and dealers were a dime a dozen. Even if Zelo had those adorable dimples every time he smiled.

“I’m in.”

Zelo stared between the two in shocked silence. Two years at Youngjae’s casino had taught him a perfect poker face and there was no way to know if he was for or against this high stakes wager.

“Both players are in.” He looked wearily at Youngjae. “Please reveal your cards, sir.”

Youngjae smirked as he spread his cards out on the table. “Full house.”

To anyone else the blank expression on Daehyun’s face would be impossible to read, but Zelo had seen him play so many times that he saw his tell a mile away.

The tic in his jaw already broadcasted whether he had won or lost.

“Good hand.” He sat back in the chair and smiled serenely. “But just not good enough to beat me.” He revealed a straight flush on the table, but his eyes were focused onto Zelo and Zelo alone. “Looks like I won.”

He squared his shoulders and nodded. “That you did, sir. Congratulations.”

Daehyun downed the last of his drink and jumped to his feet. “You gonna get shy on me now, Zelo?”

“Two weeks, Daehyun.” Youngjae’s voice spoke up dryly. “Don’t make me come searching for him.”

“Yeah, yeah sure.” He waved the annoying man away and reached for Zelo. His white-blonde hair was softer than it had looked and Daehyun knew he had made the right choice in playing for the right to have him. Two weeks was a long time. Anything could happen really.  “Let’s go, kid.”

“Are you kidding me?”

Youngjae kept the grin on his lips that normally convinced his best friend to do anything. “It was all they had left, Dae. This or a giant baby costume.”

“But somehow you ended up with the revealing gladiator?” Daehyun glared at the tiny costume in Youngjae’s other hand. “Totally fair.”

“Hey, not my fault you wouldn’t get out of bed and go with me. We could have rock, paper, scissored for the good one.” Youngjae threw the bag at him before storming off.

They both knew Daehyun would suck it up and wear it. He wouldn’t miss Himchan’s annual Halloween costume party even if he had to show up as an embarrassing zoo creature.

“I’m going to get you so drunk and then I’m going to just watch when you make a complete fool of yourself!” He yelled to his roommates closed door.

“Looking forward to it!”

--

Himchan took one look at Daehyun in his costume and laughed so hard he choked on his beer and Jongup had to slap his back.

“Calm down, Channie. Let’s not piss ourselves like last year’s party, okay?”

“I spilled a drink on myself!” He argued, pushing his boyfriend’s hands away. “And you promised never to bring it back up!” His attention returned to Daehyun and he smothered a laugh with his fist. “Yongguk’s a cowboy. I will give you all the money in Jongup’s wallet if you let me take a picture of him riding you.”

“I’m a zebra not a damn horse.” He growled, jerking the beer out of Youngjae’s outstretched hand and downing half the bottle in one gulp. “And I’m only wearing it because Youngjae took the good costume.”

Bare arms circled his waist and he found himself pulled against Youngjae’s chest. “Leave him alone, Himchan. He looks adorable.”

“Speaking of adorable.” Their party host gave a low whistle as his eyes traveled over Youngjae’s revealing gladiator costume. “Damn Jae, when did you get muscles?” He doubled over with an oomph from Jongup’s hard elbow to the stomach. “I didn’t say I wanted to sleep with him!”

Laughing, Youngjae led Daehyun out of the kitchen and back into the living room where the party was already in full swing. They mingled with the rest of the guests in between quick runs back to the kitchen where they grabbed new bottles a half a dozen times before Daehyun was starting to stumble every time he had to maneuver the step down into the living room.

“Let’s sit down for a while.” Youngjae grabbed his arm and led him over to the couch where they shoved a drunk girl dressed like a slutty nurse into the floor and settled in for their favorite part of the evening.

“I bet it’s the slutty dinosaur. Himchan’s into weird shit.”

“Nah, he has a thing for dark hair. It’ll be the slutty Snow White.”

“Loser has to pay for the cab home.”

Youngjae agreed with a smile, his fingers coming up to play with the velvety hood on Daehyun’s head. “Do you really hate being a zebra that much, Daehyunnie?” His voice grew soft as he pulled him closer and nuzzled his face into the black mane running down the hood. “You look so sweet.”

No matter how annoyed or frustrated he grew with his best friend he could never stay that way for long because Youngjae knew exactly what to say and do to make him sink further into his arms and forget everything that was bothering him. “I just feel stupid sitting in a giant toddler costume next to you.”

Blinking in confusion before breaking out with a sly smile, Youngjae poked his finger into Daehyun’s sensitive sides. “Daehyunnie, are you trying to say you think I look good in this?”

“W-Wait. What? No!” Daehyun spluttered, pushing away from him with red cheeks. Sure he knew Youngjae had developed an addiction to exercising a few months earlier. And he wasn’t blind, of course he had seen him walking around the apartment bare-chested. So he already knew what had been hiding under his baggy shirts and it made him uncomfortable for some reason to know that everyone else in attendance knew it now, too. “I think you’re disgusting.”

He gasped in surprise when he was pushed over the arm rest with Youngjae hovering over top of him. “You think I look better than you and you’re jealous!” He pinched Daehyun’s cheek and cooed at him even though the smaller boy was trying to shove him away. “My DaeDae is the cutest!”

“God, you weight a ton.” Daehyun grumbled, giving up and letting Youngjae fawn over him. He turned his head and his eyes widened. “Stop Jae, look! It’s time!”

Youngjae stopped tickling him and looked back towards the corner where Jongup was being held back by Yongguk as slutty Snow White cowered behind Himchan.

“Every year, Himchan! Can’t we have one party where you don’t grope someone right in front of me?”

“I’m sorry baby, I’m sorry.” Himchan pleadingly followed his irate boyfriend out of the room and towards their bedroom where everyone knew they wouldn’t emerge from for at least an hour.

“You owe cab fare.” Daehyun smirked up at Youngjae, his eyesight a little blurry around the edges, but still aware enough to see that Youngjae had even applied eye liner to the corners of his eyes making them look darker and deeper. “You look really great tonight, Jae. Honest.”

“Thanks…” Youngjae’s brows pulled together in a frown. He opened his mouth to say something else, but decided against it and shook his head with a small smile. “Wanna bet breakfast on how many drinks it takes Yongguk to slip his tongue down Zelo’s throat?”

Daehyun laughed, his cheeks pulling up and his eyes closing, unable to see how Youngjae’s gaze got even heavier on him. “I think you’re too late.” He motioned towards the corner where Yongguk had been holding Jongup at bay but now held an armful of kitty in his arms. Zelo’s ears fell haphazardly to the floor when Yongguk turned and slammed him against the wall.

“Hot damn. Go Yongguk.” Youngjae sounded impressed. “That’s only been eight or nine months in the making.”

“Some people just take a little longer.” Daehyun defended their friend. “Maybe he didn’t want to make a move and look like an idiot and lose a friend!”

He didn’t understand why Youngjae stared at him for so long without saying anything. “Maybe you’re right, Daehyun.”

Daehyun didn’t remember much else from the rest of the night. He knew Youngjae climbed off of him at some point and went for more drinks and that it continued until he knew his name was Daehyun, knew that Youngjae smelled like the cranberry vodka Himchan had spilled on him and knew that when he offered to lick him clean Youngjae had deemed the night to be over. Other than that the night was a blank.

“Come on, Dae. You have to sit up. I don’t want you to throw up before I get the costume off. I want to get my deposit back.”

Were they home? He didn’t know they had come home. His bed smelled like sleep and dreams and cranberries.

As soon as Youngjae unzipped the costume and helped him out he fell back to his bed and didn’t move for the next nine hours.

--

Daehyun groaned and buried his face into his pillow. The sun was so bright that he swore the rays were stabbing him straight into his brain.

“Rough night?” Youngjae’s fingers smoothed down his nape, massaging into the tight knots of shoulders. “I’ve never seen you drink so much, Daehyunnie.”

“I hate everything.” He grumbled. “Why are you in my room?”

“I heard you moving around and brought some coffee.”

Daehyun rolled over and gratefully accepted the hot mug. Even if he knew he would never be able to finish it, just the warmth and comforting smell was enough to settle his churning stomach and pounding headache.

“Thanks.” He managed to crack open his eyelids, chuckling when he got a good look at his roommates face. “You look like hell.” He patted Youngjae’s rumpled hair and thumbed across his smeared eyeliner. “That was a crazy party.”

Youngjae smiled and it made Daehyun’s stomach flip flop inside of him. He tried to tell himself it was the hangover and not the sleepy face and bare skin of his best friend. Tried and failed.

“You acted like you had fun at least.” Youngjae scooted onto the bed behind him and rested his head on Daehyun’s shoulder.

“We always have fun together.” Daehyun set his mug of coffee on the nightstand and collapsed onto the bed, pulling Youngjae down with him. “Let’s have fun sleeping together.” At Youngjae’s amused chuckle he realized his poor choice of words. “That’s not what I meant, shut up!”

His head was pulled against Youngjae’s neck. “Of course you didn’t. That’s why I didn’t spend the whole cab ride home trying to stop you from licking the vodka off my chest?”

“Oh my god.” He was glad Youngjae couldn’t see his red cheeks. “I’m so sorry, Jae. Don’t ever let me get that drunk again.”

“Don’t pretend you don’t want to still lick me.” His chest pushed against Daehyun’s until his collarbone was pressed against his lips. “Go ahead. I’ll let you.”

He hissed and dug his chin into Youngjae’s chest. “Stop it you dumbass.”

“No, I’m serious!” He wanted to smack the laughing tone right out of Youngjae’s voice. “Just one time and I won’t even judge you.”

Daehyun growled, but couldn’t move away because fuck if Youngjae wasn’t stronger than him now. “Get off me, fat ass!”

“Now, now Daehyunnie. You already told me I looked good. No take backs. Now lick me and get it out of your system!”

He dug his heel into Youngjae’s leg but he still refused to budge. “Move or I’m going to knee you.”

“Come on, I won’t tell any-“

He really only did it to shut him up, that was what Daehyun used as his defense as he slowly dragged his tongue up Youngjae’s neck. But when Youngjae moaned low and deep in his throat and his arms tightened around his back he wondered if maybe actually had done it for other reasons.

His mouth tasted like the sweet taste of Youngjae’s skin and cranberry vodka when he pulled back and looked up into Youngjae’s heavy-lidded gaze. They were both silent with Daehyun in shock and Youngjae searching his eyes intensely. Daehyun felt his roommate’s heartbeat pounding against his and used the fact that he still had a pint of alcohol inside him as the reason he dropped his head and repeated the motion, his tongue laving at the fluttering pulse of Youngjae’s skin.

This time the needy breaths coming from above were expected and spurned him on, his teeth catching the curve of Youngjae’s jaw and sucking it into his mouth. He jerked with a high-pitched whine when he felt a palm squeeze over the curve of his ass.

“Jesus. Daehyun.” Youngjae groaned as soon as Daehyun’s knee made contact with the suddenly too tight front of his pajama pants and rubbed circles against him. “I knew making you wear that zebra costume was worth it.”

His gasps turned into a pained oomph when he found himself pushed off the bed and onto the floor with an irate Daehyun standing over him. “You told me it was the only one left!”

Youngjae smiled cheerily at him. “And you promised weeks ago that you’d go with me to pick them out. I guess both of us are liars.”
