Exciting to see more in this universe so quickly! One thing I didn't get: what was the second thing Shinichi played, the one that Jack recognized?

The song Jack recognized was the Sailor Moon theme. The second song wasn't one he knew, but it was unbearably sad and pained. I'll edit to make that clear.

...JAAAAAAACK. ;_; 'always believe in you.' *sniffle* And Kid always gets a bye, because Kid, but only in horror and not in magic... wibble.

YAY MORE OF THIS OF HAPPY IS ME. XD

...also humming Moonlight Densetsu and having it war with 'Fighting Evil By Moonlight' (fucking earworm!) as I read this made for fascinatingly brain-bending scene-setting.

...but, SHin'ichi playing Moonlight Densetsu. Waaaaaah. ♥

^__^ Shin'ichi plays Moonlight Densetsu fairly often, actually. He has a tiny hope that his music can influence the children's dreams, so when he's saved a little girl and doesn't need to express his own pain, he plays Moonlight Densetsu and hopes that it helps the kid dream of the scouts. Someone to identify with, you know?

Just... FYI, this is the single best thing to happen to me today. I woke up with a headache, been taking all sorts of different sinus meds to get rid of it, to little or no relief, and I spent some time "worshiping at the oval alter" if you get my drift. When I haven't eaten anything today, since most of my day was spent in bed.

Awesomeness abounds in this verse. I hope the muses continue to flow.

Perhaps the biggest problem with Shinichi is that while some of the children lost in despair believe, he won't have true power until a name to associate that belief is attached. Perhaps Kid can give the Guardians a clue. Though Pitch may have an inkling of the problem with Shinichi. Though Shinichi has probably always held an interest for Pitch. It is not everyday you see someone purposely go through fear to find truth.

Anyone lost in despair have a hope that there is someone out there to save them. The truth is, someone would help if they just knew. And that is the saddest truth that Shinichi has probably ever had to deal with.

I can just imagine Shinichi being able to out argue Pitch about fear and the definition of fear. After all, there is a reason why people feel fear. However when people experience too much, they start to shut everything out and become broken.
