Well, I think I can safely say that I prefer Persona 4 to 3. Though the Let's Play player has a wonderful snarky characterization of 3's MC. However, Persona 4 is much more of a mindfuck, which is of course what matters. (3's secret human villain? I spent most of the game eyeing him suspiciously because of one of the first things he said. 4's ( Read more... )

Out of curiosity, Jo, did you know that they're actually making an anime of P4?!

Discovered it by happenstance while browsing around the MegaTensei Wiki site - it was announced on April 11 (which, not coincidentally, is the same date that the game begins on; apparently they're using major in-game dates as a sort-of Easter Egg for when they release trailers), and is slated for an October release.

I've heard about it, but didn't know when it was coming. :3 I'm gonna have to get it.

Yes, apparently they're pulling out all the stops on this one. Same director, same composer, same voice actors (for the Japanese version, at least - you know how it is with we Americans)…

And judging by the trailers themselves, even the exact same animation style as the in-game cutscenes. (Or if not, close enough I can't really tell the difference.) Looking at the most recent trailer, three revelations in particular:

(1) Nanako-chan is just as adorable as ever;

(2) The main character's "crush the card in my hand to summon my Persona" (plus said summoning itself) is truly as epic as I'd hoped it would be; and

(3) Just how much effort I put into deliberately forgetting Shadow-Kanji's… antics, the first time around!

Unfortunately, it only says that it's coming sometime "this Fall." Maybe that means September...

No, it's October. Check around 1:35 of that same trailer - it explicitly states "2011年10月" ("2011th year, 10th month", for those who don't read kanji) in the top left-hand section, right underneath the title.
