While not my first face-up ever, it is the first that I have done in a number of years. I do think that I have improved quite a bit, and was glad that I didn't get frustrated with it.
It's far from perfect I know, and I think it would have been better if I had gone in, knowing more about what I wanted to do. I was so stumped for what to do around the eyes, which is why I guess they look so plain.
I have a better idea of what I'd like to do on a second try though.
1) I'd like to give him a scar. That break in the eyebrow ended up being intentional, but a little faded nick there would look good.
2) I like how he looks without the lower lashes, and will probably keep him lashless. Might add in some top lashes at one point, but we'll see.
3) I do want to try paints. I think that I could make an okay go of it now. It would be a smoother finish on his eyes. I was disappointed that the line detail I had added to the lips with the watercolour pencil were washed away when I sprayed the sealant on him.
Overall though, rather pleased how he turned out. It's a face-up I can live with until I can find some better materials. Also, still trying to figure out what colour his hair should be... white or red...
I really like the Wintery head now, though I'm not sure if it's the high dome on the eyes or his eye well, but the eyes do sit a little awkwardly in his little resin skull.
