I'm alive! Did you miss me?
Okay then, so whew, it's been a while since I've even looked at LJ, much less posted in it, but I figure maybe right now would be a good time to do so. I want to change the name of this LJ to reflect certain changes that will show up in the subject matter, but that would cost me money I don't really want to spend on such a trivial thing.
I'm still into the doll thing, so that will continue to apply, though admittedly I haven't been giving my current resin duo the attention they so sorely deserve, and today was the first time I had visited DOA in several weeks.
You see, my current passion seems to be Steampunk. Well, it's not really anything new, I've liked the genre for a long time, but it has only been recently that I've decided I really want to make my appreciation for it tangible. Sort of like how sci-fi fans and otaku cosplay, but I get to be original and boundless.
So I intend to make a costume... a few costumes actually.
See, shortly after I got this insane idea into my head, I also happened to be going through my wardrobe and found that I have the basics to start on a couple outfits. Things need to be accessorized, as it's all in the details, but I want to be able to speak out to the non-seamsters and say, "Don't worry. It'll take a little bit of time and searching, but you too can be great without having to sew a stitch!" Or at best, maybe a couple of stitches by hand and only as an embellishment.
I am a little disappointed that my initial idea to form a Steampunk Group with friends based upon a crazy, story-like idea I had has since fallen through. But, I'm doing my best not to get discouraged, and go through with things anyway. Luckily, I have found that there is a local Steampunk group that tends to get together for tea and such, so I have at least that as an outlet... and as I told a friend, I still want to do SteamPho...
So I'll be keeping some tabs with the project here, letting you all know (whether you like it or not, but if not, then just don't read) what's going on. I think that I'll organize my notes and perhaps let you know about that crazy story idea, and also of the character I'm creating. Today, thanks to a single image, I had a brain burst about how to work a doll aspect into it... sorta... I may go into that later as well.
