His Triumphant Return!! - {Yder}
Finally and at last, I have Calinth back in at least a semi-complete form!
He arrived two days earlier than expected and the postal notice even said that he wasn't to be available until tomorrow. Well, I decided to just try it anyway (since tomorrow is supposed to be incredibly cold out), and he was there! Ode to such joy!
I don't even have to try. Camera's out, something else has my attention, Mo will be there, right in the thick of it.
Just to give you an idea of what I went through in bringing back this boy. There's currently a snow storm going on (wind has gotten stronger) and I decided I wanted to do groceries and loaded up my granny cart. So big ol' Luts box under one arm and dragging the granny cart through the snow with the other, oh what fun times.
A pretty gold box!
And of course, someone had to go and enjoy the other box as soon as it became available.
Whee, certificate that I can't read and advertising goodies... of dolls that they no longer sell (the ZuZu kitties are discontinued, aren't they?), and also got a nice batch of postcards that show off all their dolls old and new and grouped by size and type.
Whee, new wig. Cal's to be an uber redhead!
And yes, that ball of bubblewrap in the corner is the Wintery head... I think. I haven't bothered to unwrap it yet. Not sure as to what I'm doing with it at the moment.

Oh yeah, odd little blemish on his knee... dunno why I felt the need to draw attention that... delaying the inevitable!
I'd forgotten about how the new Luts/CP head cap works, and was worried for a moment when I saw this... the little blob turned out to be eye putty that had somehow escaped. The headcap was a lot looser than I'd have anticipated, though I could also be too used to my MNF headcaps which are nice and firm and tight, without needing an S-hook through them.
Oh oh, and you can see a bit of that face...

Okay, my impressions on the face-up.
It's not exactly what I would have liked, but it'll do the job until I can find a trustworthy artist to commission (hopefully who would be able to mod his ears as well). I rather like how they did the slightly arched brows, and the eyelashes are lovely (also like the real ones they put in).
Below that part... well, in my head, Calinth has usually been envisioned with dark lips, and unfortunately the rosey blush to his cheeks and chin make me think that he was just out playing in the snow... maybe he was. O.o;
Putting the wig on, the blushing doesn't look quite so awkward thankfully (and I'll take pictures of that laters, along with some new eyes that I will put in... though I'm not sure if I have a decent size. 18mm, 14mm, no 16mm in Green).
And for now he's sitting naked upon my computer desk... why? Because I'm too lazy to go get him dressed right now. And I like having him close to me to admire. **purrs**
