I got the most generic looking birdhouse from fred mayer the other day, simply because I've run out of time to make my own. Given my schedule, I think I need to start planning and building in the fall.
So the question is, for any birders out there, what can I do make the house more appealing to wrens? Should I knock off the post? scratch in "ladder marks"? change the hole shape?
I've already decided to post it up about 10 feet. Should I keep it away from the house, or does that matter? Can I attach it to the house?
Your input is always welcome. :)
