She'd won.
Of course she'd won, half of her wanted to say. The Shady half, the half that she'd cultivated in the human world and largely left when she'd come here. There weren't games of skill, money to win when she walked in the perfect sands of the beach.
No, here was where Nightshade reigned, where emotion was the ruler of the day and one bled into the next.
Except today. Today was a different day, one entirely seperate from every other.
Today she had the spoils of winning William Bush in an auction.
Today... today was a good day.
She sat, crosslegged, on a branch. Some fifteen feet off the ground, she was outside of his hut in the Hidden Hamlet, her shadow not betraying her due to the noontime sun. When she saw him she whistled, high and piercing, knowing he'd hear.
Today, he was hers. Within reason, maybe, but still.
