She could never tell. That was the thing that got her - got him, too, although he could usually tell before she did. When she'd rolled over to kiss him good morning, he'd held her away from him - dark eyes scrutinizing, his hands so large on her shoulders. He'd peer into her eyes, her face, her breasts - of course, her breasts. He knew them better then anyone, and he could just tell.

At times, it infuritated her. The way he'd smirked over breakfast, the way that he'd caught her arm after Gemma and Jian had left the treehouse, and had kissed her so slowly and sweetly. Because he knew, the bastard. He'd known, and he'd laughingly said to stay away from the kitchens. He'd known that they'd been cooking fish, although he didn't share that bit of knowledge. Just that she should stay away.

... Which meant, of course, that it was the first place she went. The moment that the smell hit her she was bent in the garden, her braid thankfully out of the way as she lost what little she'd eaten for breakfast. She hadn't know that that was mostly how he knew. When she was ripening she ate little in the beginning - with Gemma, she'd easily lost ten pounds, which on someone her size... It was just sparked by a complete disinterest in food - until she started showing, when she started eating like a ravenous beast.

It took her only about an hour to get back to the shore, back to the treehouse. He was there with the children, watching them play on the beach from the house. Shadow didn't even blink before she hit him in the shoulder. "You fucker. You could have at least told me!" The look on his face was making it terribly hard not to smile, and she tried so very hard not to laugh.

Theon raised one brow, capturing his wife's slim wrist in his own hand. "Now, where would the fun be in that?" He tugged her closer, and his other hand easily spanned her lower stomach. "Now that you know..." He lifted her (carefully!), and smacked her arse as he lifted her over his shoulder. "... We can see about treating you properly."
