My Ddalgi Pullip review

Apr 29, 2013 02:42

This is a review about the adorable and easy-to-maintain Pullip Ddalgi. I bought her from a Dolly Market user a few days ago in April (last week) and since we were local, it arrived the next day. She is adorable with a nice neutral faceup. Unlike other Pullips, she isn't so pale and has some colour to her skin (compared to my pale Chelsea) Since there has been little-to-no reviews about her before, I decided to write up one about her!

Pullips are dolls with joints-in-their limbs, meaning they have alot of articulation. You can move and pose their arms and legs in many different ways. They can 'sit down' but they can't stand on their own due to their heavy heads, so the doll stand is needed (or prop them against the wall). They measure around 28cm tall (from your fingertips to your elbow)

Ddalgi is pronounced as "Talgi" (with a hard "g"). Ddalgi's name is Korean, meaning "strawberry".

Her Quote:
Taking the sweet scent of strawberries with me to the park filled with flowers…Fresh Strawberry Cake and fragrant tea brewed from fresh flowers…Feel Like So. (From dollywiki.net)

The box design: Green ribbon border with red background

Items: Ddalgi card, cloth-green plaid bag, pair of shoes, flowery head scarf (matches with clothes) and lastly a deep red cherry-coloured base. Her eyelids are painted strawberry pink.

About Her faceup:
She has nice light pink blush around her cheeks. Slight shiny eyeshadow with dusted grey (but not enough to be 'smokey') with tender pink lips. Her eyes have a ring of emerald green. She is also a Type-4 Pullip and most Type-3 clothing stocks can fit her. Her stock can also be fit on Obitsu size: 25-27cm 'small bust' too.

Flaws: For my Ddalgi doll, she has the typical Type-4 'loose wrist' so her hands may tend to drop out after some time. (Tephon tape is a solution) and if you twist her hair, strands may tend to fall out. But unlike other wigs, it remains silky smooth for a long time and does not dry out easily.

Pros: Because of her colorful simple clothes, she is fairly easy to undress. The velcro tape on her blouse back is all you need, but untie her apron first. New Ddalgi ties are 'stitched' to the apron but it can be removed. Her legs are not wrapped in plastic, I think because her striped tights are cotton so it does not stain her legs like fishnet stockings or 'heavy dark socks' do.

Her boots are seperated in a corner from her feet. Possibly to prevent stain. Overall she is a gorgeous doll; easy to maintain and I recommend Ddalgi to anyone :)
