So it sounds like things have been rather rough lately.
It sucks.
Women suck like that, trust me, I've seen my fair share of that crap. (the key is that not all women are bad like that, and you'll eventually find someone cool and wonderful).
The only thing I can say right now is this: If talking with girls and IMing them and all that is getting you down, back off it for awhile. =P Worry about You take some Johonoknat Time, look at what makes you happy (WoW, art, school, that webcomic idea, whatever). Don't worry about the unfairer sex. Let them do their own thing, and leave them to their own devices.
Here is a very simple logic problem:
Given: that everyone wants to be with someone, eventually, and those that say they don't are just fooling themselves.
And Given: that there are More Women than Men in this entire world.
Then: There is a woman out there for you.
So take your time, enjoy yourself. You will eventually find someone, but rushing into it, pushing towards a relationship with every girl you fancy (because come on, seriously, what girl do we guys not fancy in some way or another), is not going to do it.
Enjoy life, be confident, and the good things in Life will come to you.
