Well, apparently the First Sunday of Epiphany occurred last week while I was still at the GBTQ workshop. I wonder whether I missed eating king cake? Someone probably showed up somewhere at one of the three services bearing a king cake.
Speaking of kings, this Sunday always falls on or near Martin Luther King Day, so that serves as a convenient hook upon which to theme the service. Almost every hymn was from LEVAS, including the opening one which shares certain martial rhythms with the national anthem and is almost as difficult to sing. My favorite was "Just A Closer Walk With Thee". But, there was also one I had never noticed before. A hymn entirely dedicated to Martin Luther King called, "Blessed Martin, Pastor, Prophet".
Frontpage gave me a good hug. I think he must have been watching the Golden Globes like I was the previous Sunday.
