Mom Speaks

Three weeks after being written off as practically brain dead, Mom finally spoke a few coherent words in an audible voice. She was given a bed in the hospital early this morning, after going to and from the nursing home on Friday for the same problem: a y-valve that is too narrow for her feeding tube. She's had the valve for about a month and it's the second time it has become clogged.

When Sis asked how she was doing, Mom responded by saying, "Okay, i guess."

A moment later she asked us whether we were "all right?"

We said, yes.
