Free (or cheap) Earth Day Stuff

Apr 22, 2010 14:15

Happy Earth Day! Just because you're an ecomentalist for a day, doesn't mean you have to go buy an expensive Prius.

Kroger: Submit a design for a reusable bag and get a credit for a free bag loaded onto your Kroger card.

Walgreens: Refill an ink cartridge (HP/Lex), black or color, for $1 TODAY ONLY. The coupon is hiding in the ad, available just inside the shop door. This is a godsend for those in college, go forth and print cheaply/eco-friendly!
- For me, this was a bust, not many locations do ink refills. Even more annoying that the price signs at the photo desk advertise refills, even when the location doesn't have the equipment.

Six Flags over Georgia: Bring some e-waste to recycle today and get a FREE ticket. (Park itself is closed today, ticket coupon is good through September) You have until 6:30pm TODAY to take advantage of it!
- Not a free ticket, but a free coupon. Bit of annoying fine print there. Coupon brings the cost of a ticket down to $25. Oh well, at least I was able to dispose of a CRT at no charge and I got a free Dave.FM t-shirt out of it.

Anyone found any other cool eco-friendly deals today?

Edit: Updated with real-world results.
