I googled my current catch word, which is definately the word of the year for me, and maybe its the word of my life despite my life never being that hard of one.
I digress, I googled Persistence:
"you must learn to be still in the midst of activity and vibrantly alive in repose" Indira Ghandi
"Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish." John Quincy Adams
"You're not obligated to win. You're obligated to keep trying to do the best you can every day"
Marian Wright Edelman
"Whoever said anybody has a right to give up?" Marian Wright Edelman
(I'm not sure I agree, but thats powerfully said)
"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." Thomas Alva Edison
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race”
Calvin Collride (shiver)
"Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in."
Bill Bradley
Other than that...this weekend confirmed to me every single thing I have thought about my "old" life from my "new" one. The weather is much better in the new life, the weekend was worth the cost, but it wasn't like some exceptional joy I get nostaglic about, and I didn't expect it to be. I think were I still there I'd be much less lonely and no more happy, maybe I'd even be less happy.
I suppose in economist utility terms, CSU is at least as good as SMCM was and I probably prefer it. Almost definately, after all....atleast the sun is almsot always shining even if my mood isn't here!
