The little things that keep you going....

The working environment and attitudes around here are not improving. I am really frustrated with my some of my colleagues. They do nothing to uphold the rules so I have to pick up their slack, then I look like the mean one. Not to mention they spout off about all the cool things they are doing with their class which is mostly a crock of shit....there I had to vent.

But I just do my job and keep on keeping on. What I need to do is not let my frustration show at work. I pulled the person aside and told them how I felt and I will leave it at that. I rememember how I used to be so shy and avoid confrontation. Now if I have an issue with a person I walk right up and tell them what the problem is. It really is much easier that way. If my boss doesn't recognize that my colleague is doing poor work than so be it. I am doing a good job and that is what I care about. Now I am affected by this colleagues lazy attitude because the students get off easy with him and don't get away with anything from me so now they don't like me as much, but that is the way it has to be, then that is the way it has to be.

So I concentrate on some little things to get me through the day. Like the fish tank I have been putting together for the last month. Here is a bad photo of it without fish. I will be adding some this weekend.

Just a 40 gallon high tank that I will put some colorful fishes in for aesthetics. Nothing that time consuming or complicated. It will be a nice little relaxing nook in the classroom. Fish are so enjoyable to watch.

The other fun in my life is scaring Aqila with birthday present requests. Today I told her I wanted a .45 Sig Sauer P220. She didn't know what it was, I think she thought it was a satallite radio. She told me to send her the link, so I did, and this is what she found.....

"The P220 Combat with threaded barrel is the newest version of the legendary SIG SAUER® pistol. Designed to meet, and exceed, rigorous military standards, the P220 Combat performs like no other .45ACP available. Each pistol features the military’s Flat Dark Earth finish on its alloy frame and SIG’s Nitron® over a stainless slide. Internal parts and controls are coated or phosphated for extreme corrosion resistance and reduced friction while the barrel is hard chromed and finished in Nitron® which easily passes the military’s accuracy requirements - even after 20,000 rounds. The P220 Combat also passes the military’s 240-hour salt spray corrosion test. Outfitted with a true M1913 Picatinny rail, vertical front strap serrations and newly designed SIGLITE® suppressor night sights. (Suppressor not included with pistol)"

At this point I will be lucky to get a present from her. However it is fun to see her reactions to all this. Although I would like to go shooting again. It is fun to try and hit targets from different distances.

The other thing I have done is taken an intense interest in vehicle maintenance. I have discovered a Toyota Matrix Owners Forum on the internet where they tell you how to do all different maintenance procedures for the car. I am about to send in my last payment and I really want to keep this car for as long as I can so I am trying to learn how to do as much work on it as I can so I don't have to pay somebody else. I am going to replace the airfilter this weekend, which is nothing major, but to do anywork on a 4 cylinder foreign economy car is not east. The engine is very inaccessible. Just to get at the major components I have to remove plastic covers and all sorts of screws and bolts. Just to replace one of my headlights I had to remove the whole battery. Which took enough time as it was. My eventual goals are to replace the serpentine belt and oxygen sensors in the next year. They are working fine now, however it would be great to replace these things before they break.

Anyway I am going to find out more ways to tease Aqila.
