Surf and Turf with avocado slices and wasabi mustard....

Feb 07, 2007 21:07

Thanks to Marcus Allen I have added Haas Avocados to my daily diet.  Weird I know, I was watching Mike & Mike in the Morning on ESPN as I do every morning while eating breakfast and they were interviewing Marcus Allen.  He then plugs Haas Avocados, so I look them up and sure enough they are pretty darn good for you.  So I have been slicing avocados and putting them on my sandwiches for lunch.  However on Monday I cooked a pound of flounder and put the leftovers ( half pound) in the fridge.  Each day I throw a little fish on my chicken and wasabi mustard sandwich to make a surf & turf sanwich!

It is the little things in life that keep me going.

So it has been too cold to run lately, every time I try I end up feeling run down.  It must be the harsh cold air in the lungs and the switch from warm environment to very cold environment for 45 minutes back to warm.  So once we get around 30 degrees I will run again.

Class are going OK, I think my students are coming around to my style of teaching.  You see I refuse to just give them the answer, I always answer their questions with another question and lead them down the right path.  Today I explained to them how your brain builds neural pathways and that if I give you the answer you do not build a path to follow.  However if you find the answer yourself you do build a path and one that you can continually follow everytime you need the answer.  Some got it, others just wanted the answer.

I don't know, it is such a tough battle being a teacher.  This is the time of year when it really begins to wear you down, February and March are the two worst months of teaching.  The long stretch of no holidays, the wintery classroom fever of the students, now add in the fact that I work from 8am-5pm then 7-9:30pm and you got yourself a worn out mother effer.  Now March 1st starts baseball season and my day wil go from 8am-6:30pm then 7-9:30pm....ouch.  Oh yeah, add in my running schedule, about 9:45pm-11pm all said and done.  Why do I do it all?

Alright, sorry for bitching, I just had to vent.  I know I made the choice for this lifestyle, I know I can stop whenever I want to, yadda yadda yadda.  Regardless I will keep on keeping on because next Fall when I don't do all this extra work, it will seem like a vacation!

I am just dreaming of being done with my work day at 5pm, or dare I dream of being done at 3 30pm, when I am scheduled to be done?
