Good Day

I had a fun day out with kokeshikitten. We drove into LA (which I usually don't like doing, but the traffic was minimal today) to see an Arts and Crafts exhibit at LACMA (LA County Museum of Art). The exhibit was gorgeous. I especially liked this viking-looking Norwegian chair and a similar bench, and this one big beautiful stained glass window. After that, we went to the Japanese Art Pavilion (a permanent exhibit) and looked at the paintings and woodblock prints, including the very famous The Great Wave. There was another print I liked (or maybe painting. I'm not sure) of two guys washing their horse under a waterfall.

Once we'd had our fill of art, we walked over the the LaBrea tar pits to see the fossils. Lately, I've been kind of into sloths and they have two complete, and very large giant sloth skeletons on display. Oh yeah, and the colombian mamoth was frickin' huge!

Finally, we went for lunch at Canters Deli, which was nice. It was a very good day.
